K2T has had a huge development over the last 18 months since his debut release.The crafting of his sound over this period, both alone, and with like-minded artists, has all led to his long awaited debut album, and Detached Audio is proud to showcase the first sampler EP for this release. We present four brand new tracks: three original Drum & Bass tracks showcasing the diversity of K2T's sound, as well as a sultry downtempo relick of the lead track.

Up first is lead track 'Elder Spirit' which is K2T at his finest and most daring. A chopped Eastern influenced lofi sample forms the basis of this track before fluttering hi-hats and sweeping atmospheres pave the way for experimental vibes. This is a track that effortlessly blends the aesthetics of old-school hip hop and old-school jungle, rounded off with a personal modern polish for a hypnotising tune that is sure to keep listeners on the edge of their seats every time.

'Hoarfrost' follows up, and shows off a softer side of K2T. Stripped back to the bare essentials, this is a beautiful showcase of how "less is more". A crunchy rolling break and smooth sub bass envelopes a wintery, atmospheric piece, topped with K2T's signature bell melodies that result in a track that is perfect for the end of the night.

Ensuing this is 'The Sanctuary's Kingdom', in which K2T shows off his experimental side further by unleashing an amen-charged, reese heavy track coupled with delicate Eastern influenced melodies. This further develops with jazzy pianos dancing in, demonstrating K2T's ability to easily switch vibes and emotions, as well as keep musical arrangements fresh and exciting.

The EP is wrapped up with a downtempo version of 'Elder Spirit', displaying K2T's versatility. By stripping back the jungle influence of the original, we are left with a slick, hip hop re-imagination with crunchy beat patterns constantly changing through the track, as well as an accentuation of the lead hook's lofi aesthetic.

As always with a K2T release, this first sampler boasts just a few of the many tricks this artist has up his sleeve. Expect much more diversity to come as we edge ever closer to the release of his full debut album.
