It's hard to believe it at times but Detached Audio is celebrating 5 years of activities! Originally a label started by Manu in order to push experimental bass music crossed with ambient styles with further influence coming from Drum & Bass to bring about a unique cross-genre style, Detached Audio has been steadily growing and after hiring K2T as the label manager, the label has now become a broad hub for exciting, experimental music that deviates from the norm. For a 5 year celebration, we've decided to invite our friends, both veterans to the label, as well as some newcomers.

Up first is St.Iff, a producer from Hungary who has been making waves with his recent track 'Dorset Naga' on none other than Break's Symmetry Recordings. He makes his Detached Audio debut with 'Ambivalence', kicking off our 5 year project with a track that fuses the past, present and future sound of the label. Ambient pads are backed by a heavy roller, perfect for the late nights!

Stepping up to the plate next with his first track on the label is Danish producer Mindloader with 'Fractured'. Dark atmospherics and an eerie vocal pave the way for a spooky track that wouldn't be out of place in a horror movie.

We proudly welcome newcomer 'Livid Cheese' for the third track in this compilation, aptly entitled 'Pretty Simple Music'. A beautiful rhodes solo starts the track off before the track makes a complete 180 to give us a stepper that delivers funk and darkness in spades. This one is a killer!

Returning to Detached Audio for the first time in 2 years is DNB Dojo owner Hex with 'Rewind'. An infectious hook takes centre stage in this track, harking back to the golden days of UK Garage. Watch out for the garage switch mid-way through!

Detached Audio has always been a space in which we release music outside of Drum & Bass. We proudly welcome back Dubkraft Records' owner Alien Pimp under his SubJazz alias for 'Rain-Friendly', a garage anthem that will make fans feel both nostalgic, while bringing a new flavour to the table.

With 5 years under our belt, Detached Audio has been home to a diverse range of music loved by a wide audience. We're sure that in the years to come, we can keep providing quality music for all audiences.
